New Scheels store in Dallas, Texas.
Chamberlin has completed their roofing scope at the new Colony Scheels Grandscape in Dallas, Texas. Chamberlin is honored to have collaborated with R. L. Engebretson as the architect for the building and to have worked under general contractor Sampson Construction Co. Inc. Chamberlin installed Dry in, synthetic slate roofing, flashing and sheet metal. The building is the world's largest all-sports store opening in 2020. Scheels operates 27 stores and in 12 states. This will be the first Scheels store in Texas and the 28th store in the country.
Scheels Grandscape is in The Colony's $1.5 billion Grandscape development along State Highway 121. Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway is the developer of the project. Scheels will be a big addition to Grandscape which is anchored by the 560,000-square-foot Nebraska Furniture Mart. Grandscape is shaping up to be a family entertainment destination with tenants that are unique to Texas.
Scheels includes 85 specialty shops ranging from technical athletic gear to the latest fashions for women, men and children, all featuring the top name brands under one roof. The store has state-of-the-art footwear, bike, golf, archery, hunting and fishing shops for customers. All entertainment venues, specialty shops and boutiques are staffed by trained experts who focus on their passions. Family-friendly attractions include a 65-foot, 16-car operating Ferris wheel, a 16,000-gallon saltwater aquarium with more than 600 fish and a wildlife mountain. Shoppers will also be able to try out interactive arcade games and sports simulators.
