Chamberlin is wrapping up roofing and waterproofing for what some are calling the “Suburban Urban Boom.” CityLine in Richardson, TX,aspires to be an instant city with a true suburban, yet urban, environment. The walkable, pedestrian-friendly environment will attract a dynamic mix of full-time residents, workers and shoppers looking for extraordinary dining and entertainment options. Some are open already, including Tom + Chee, formally featured on “Shark Tank.” Check them out if you have a hankering for a grilled cheese donut.
State Farm has played a major role in the growth of this suburban area with their new two-million square foot, four-building regional office campus located in the heart of the CityLine. With construction almost complete on the fourth tower, State Farm intends to sell all four buildings in a sale-leaseback transaction and continue to occupy them on a long-term lease. This sale could fetch more than $700 million, making it one of the largest such real estate transactions ever in Texas.
Chamberlin’s role in this development included installing a TPO thermoplastic roofing system on the multi-family housing facilities, CityLine Block A & B. Combined, they contain 1,370 residential units. Chamberlin is also waterproofing these apartments, including below-grade waterproofing, cold-applied waterproofing, firestopping, joint sealants and site paving sealants. Block A is complete and Block B is slated for completion next month.
Chamberlin's roofing and waterproofing scope for State Farm’s headquarters is coming to a close, too. The four towers received a TPO roofing system, in addition to hot fluid applied waterproofing, below grade waterproofing, air barrier system, joint sealants and expansion joints.
