Flying With Eagles
Chamberlin's work on the Dallas Love Field Modernization Program and Project Delta earned the company two first-place national Excellence in Construction Eagle Awards from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). Chamberlin also received the prestigious National Safety Excellence Award. Representatives from the company received the awards March 1 during ABC’s 27th annual Excellence in Construction awards celebration in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The Excellence in Construction awards program is the industry’s leading competition, developed to honor innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects. This year's judging panel of industry experts included representatives from the Design-Build Institute of America, Engineering News-Record and the Construction Users Roundtable, among others.
The Dallas Love Field Modernization Program was recognized in the Specialty Contracting category. Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing installed nearly 550,000 square feet of roofing for the expansion and renovation of this landmark airport. During construction, the team identified a water pooling issue due to an improperly sloped roof deck and offered an innovative solution.
Project Delta was awarded in the Specialty Contracting - Exteriors category for its unique parking garage roof murals that could stand up to the weather. Instead of using paint, Chamberlin installed 600,000 square feet of traffic coating with colored pool quartz in a paint-by-number approach to create beautiful murals depicting the owner's campuses across the world.
ABC's National Safety Excellence Award recognizes companies who exhibit a continued commitment to jobsite safety and whose safety performance and programs are judged to be exemplary by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee.
