Chamberlin raised over $10,000 for WorkFaith Connection at their Customer Appreciation Event on April 14, 2016 at Minute Maid Park. As the Astros battled the Kansas City Royals, approximately 350 of Chamberlin’s clients and friends bought raffle tickets, hoping to be the lucky winners of prizes such as a fiddle signed by Charlie Daniels, a CZ-USA Bobwhite Side-by-Side Shotgun and a night at Minute Maid Park. The winners were drawn during the 7th inning stretch and due to everyone’s generosity, the raffle raised $10,240, all donated directly to WorkFaith Connection.

WorkFaith Connection’s mission is giving people in transition a second chance at becoming productive citizens and providers for their families through the gift of employment. Their eight-day job readiness bootcamp is designed to equip students with the skills they need to conduct a successful job search and become employed. Once a student completes the bootcamp, WorkFaith Academy prepares them for the employment marathon through personal and professional growth. 74% of those who graduate from their program become employed at the average wage of $11.75/hour. In 2015, they graduated 521 men and women. More information can be found at www.workfaithconnection.org

Chamberlin has been working with WorkFaith Connection for over five years. Chamberlin President, John Kafka, sits on their board of directors, and Chamberlin has participated in their fundraising and graduation events, as well as hiring graduates of their program. Chamberlin understands there is a dignity that comes with employment and being a provider for one’s family and a contributor to society. WorkFaith uniquely helps to bridge a gap between a person’s checkered past and their hopeful future by utilizing faith and real life skills to honestly and openly approach employment and job interviews. Chamberlin is proud to support them in that endeavor.
