Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing is the proud recipient of a 2012 Associated General Contractors (AGC) APEX Award for the roofing work performed on the Houston Food Bank. The award was won in the “SC-7 Thermal/Moisture Protection” Specialty Contractor category, given by the AGC Houston chapter. The roof replacement portion of the facility’s renovation was particularly important and required the highest quality of installation possible. Chamberlin replaced no less than six different existing roof systems on the facility.

The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Houston Chapter also awarded Chamberlin with an award of merit at the Business Excellence Awards, in the “Commercial Specialty Contractor” category. The Business Excellence Awards seeks to identify excellence in the construction industry by evaluating business practices rather than construction practices. Entries are judged based upon business management, safety, community service, environmental conscientiousness and involvement in ABC. “We are especially honored to receive this award because we believe our team and business practices set the standard in our industry,” said Chamberlin CEO, John Kafka. “It is all about the team of people at Chamberlin who make the real difference, and our team is among the best.”

Chamberlin recently received the great news of moving on to the National competition for the AGC Construction Safety and Excellence Awards (CSEA). Chamberlin won in the category, “Specialty Division – Over 1 Million Work Hours,” for the North and East Texas chapter TEXO. The purpose of the CSEA is to recognize construction companies who excel at safety performance. The judges closely examine each candidate's commitment to safety and occupational health management and risk control, as well as evidence of active employee participation, safety training, work site hazard identification and control, and safety program innovation. Chamberlin will be giving an oral presentation at the national competition and the winners will be announced at the Willis Safety Awards Breakfast during the AGC Annual Convention in Palm Springs, CA.
