Chamberlin was honored to be a part of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Outstanding Construction Awards Banquet in Austin, Texas. Annually, projects are judged on difficulty in construction resulting from design, location, materials and unusual construction techniques. Final appearance and quality of the finished product and timeliness of completion are also contributing factors in the winning projects. Many great projects were submitted this year and the competition was tough, but Chamberlin walked away with awards for four different buildings we collaborated on. These projects include Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) Terminal/Apron Expansion and Improvements, Moe and Gene Johnson High School, Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa Additions and Renovations, St. Edward's University RCC Expansion.
The ABIA Terminal/Apron Expansion and Improvements project is a multi-year, multi-phased project consisting of a new Stormwater and Deicing Collection Facility, roughly 40 acres of new apron paving for approach and taxi lane improvements, a new east terminal expansion offering 11 new passenger boarding gates, and many upgrades throughout the existing terminal. Chamberlin performed the site sealants work in collaboration with General Contractor Hensel Phelps.
Moe and Gene Johnson High School is a public school located in Buda, Texas. Chamberlin's efforts on the waterproofing side of the Johnson High School in collaboration with General Contractor Bartlett Cocke led to an Outstanding Construction Award. Chamberlin's scope included water repellents, flashing and sheet metal, air barrier, below grade waterproofing, thermal insulation, joint sealants and expansion joints.
Chamberlin worked with General Contractor The Beck Group on the Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa Additions and Renovations installing traffic coatings. Omni is a high-end resort spread across 4,000 landscaped acres located seven miles from Zilker Botanical Garden.
The St. Edward's University RCC Expansion included Chamberlin's waterproofing in collaboration with General Contractor Hill and Wilkinson. Chamberlin's scope included below grade waterproofing, water repellents, thermal insulation, air barrier, flashing and sheet metal, joint sealants, site and paving sealants. The expansion includes all new amenities designed to support the SEU community's holistic well-being.
