The Texas Instruments RFAB2 – Semiconductor Fabrication Facility project is one of the largest in Chamberlin Dallas’ history. With over 24,000 man hours worked so far, the crew is impressing general contractor Austin Commercial with their safety efforts.
JHAs are completed every day before beginning work. The foreman ensures all scopes of work are reviewed for hazards and proper control methods are communicated with all crew members. Training needs for certain scopes of work, such as confined spaces, are well communicated so all personnel have adequate training and knowledge to complete the task at hand. The scope includes below-grade waterproofing, precast panel joint sealants, joint firestopping, penetration firestopping, expansion control, air barrier, flashing and sheet metal.
Project Manager Ryan Grigsby says, “Texas Instruments upholds a higher standard of safety than minimum OSHA standards, and our crews have adhered and excelled within that level of safety and owner scrutiny.” At Chamberlin we believe in installing a safe, leak-free job, productively.
