Did you know? According to the World Health Organization, breast cancer is the most common cancer in American women, except for skin cancers. One in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. There are over 3.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. Although rare, men can get breast cancer too. In 2020, an estimated 2,620 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer. The pink ribbon represents fear of breast cancer, hope for the future, and the charitable goodness of people and businesses who publicly support the breast cancer movement. It is intended to evoke solidarity with those who currently have breast cancer.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. 2020 has been a powerful reminder that we are all in this together, and our choices and actions have the power to protect the most vulnerable among us in a big way. The same holds true when it comes to breast cancer. We have the power to show every person that their life is important. By working together, we can inspire hope. Chamberlin is proud to come together as one team and wear pink to show our support for breast cancer awareness.
