It is said thousands of times but that certainly doesn’t diminish the ultimate importance of safety in our business. Safety is the captain of all company values and running right alongside it is its essential sidekick, training.
Quite simply, you can’t have one without the other. It takes training to ensure safety measures up. Some of our behind the scenes support for our safety culture at Chamberlin includes:
New hire safety orientation
Equipment and tool safety classes
OSHA 10 and 30-hour courses
CPR and First Aid training
Chamberlin is proud of our safety coordinators who took the next step and became Certified Safety and Health Officials.
But training at Chamberlin reaches beyond safety. We have a comprehensive craft and skill-training program called Chamberlin U that empowers our crews to deliver quality, cost-effective projects completed safely and productively. We anticipate over 50 graduates in 2019. Our team also participates in manufacturer training to learn specific product techniques and installation guidelines. Last, but certainly not least, field leaders at Chamberlin train their crews on “The Chamberlin Way”. It’s not unheard of for a superintendent to create a mock-up façade to instruct his crew on proper techniques. After all, hands-on learning is the best kind.
At the end of the day, training and development impacts productivity, employee tenure, the bottom line and client satisfaction. These are all good things in our book. Our investment in training and developing our team isn’t just for good measure though. Helping our team grow is important to us. If you like to learn and are interested in growing your skills and career, you might just consider joining the Chamberlin crew yourself.
