Construction Growth in Dallas-Fort Worth

Dallas - Fort Worth saw a slow and steady growth in construction in 2019 that is expected to continue through 2020. Higher education, healthcare, multi-family, and mixed-use developments will remain the leading industry market segments in DFW. The metroplex has several large-scale projects kicking off in 2020 including the redevelopment plan for the 37-year-old Collin Creek Mall. This $1 billion revitalization will add 300,000 square feet in retail space, 500 single family homes, 2,300 multifamily homes, 40,000 square feet in restaurant space, 1.3 million square feet in office space, 200 hotel guest rooms and much more.

As a specialty contractor, Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing recognizes complex projects can present challenges. Key factors in combatting these are keeping safety as a primary focus, quality installations and working with a spirit of cooperation. Another challenge many companies consistently face is the depletion of our workforce. The labor market has proven to be tight in recent years and will continue this trend through 2020. Craft and safety training and certifications can help improve employee retention. Also, utilizing industry associations and other programs to teach young men and women about career in construction will help spread awareness of the trade.
