Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing was honored to receive an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Excellence in Construction (EIC) Merit award from their local ABC Houston chapter for their work on Heights High School in Houston, Texas. This qualified them to compete at the national level where Chamberlin was recognized with an ABC EIC first-place Eagle award.
This program celebrates outstanding projects in the commercial and industrial construction industry across the nation. Competing projects are evaluated on difficulty in construction, obstacles overcome, quality control, scheduling and value engineering.
Chamberlin’s project team, along with Rice & Gardner Consultants, Inc., faced numerous unforeseen field conditions, including excessive water underground. The team created and implemented solutions to seal the basement watertight in a short time frame, stopping severe water infiltration issues the property had suffered for over 20 years.
Chamberlin is also the proud recipient of an ABC National Safety Excellence award. This program recognizes companies that exhibit a continued commitment to jobsite safety and whose safety performance and programs are judged to be exemplary by the ABC National Safety and Health Committee.
Award winners were selected from ABC member firms that achieved Diamond, Platinum and Gold status in ABC’s STEP Safety Management System. During the selection process, contractors were judged on their company’s safety data, essay questions and video interviews with company principals about their corporate safety culture.
Justin Lambert, Chamberlin Director of Safety and Risk Management, accepted the awards on the company’s behalf at the 31st Annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebration on March 10, 2021, at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.
